Hello Everyone,
I'll apologize in advance because this is purely a pragmatic post about technical blog stuff.
A few people (specifically the kids' grandmas - hence the importance of this post) have reported that they are no longer able to post comments on Our Perfect Space. However, others of you can post because you have been. Can you please take a few seconds to comment if you can so maybe I can figure out who can and who can't and what might be going on?
Actually, this could be kind of fun. Maybe we can make it a de-lurking day of sorts. Who's out there? Are there people reading Our Perfect Space that I've never heard from before or maybe haven't heard from in a long time? Yes? Wouldn't it be fun to take a second to introduce yourself or at least just say hi? I'd love to hear from you (and figure out how to bring the grandmas back into our cozy blog family)!
As Ashagre and Elsa would say...Coooooome Oooooon! You like it!
This blog was created to chronicle our journey towards parenthood through Ethiopian adoption. Now that our kids are home it serves as a space to explore and record life as a family of four. If you feel compelled, read along as we work to create the Perfect Space for our family.
"I wanna have friends that I can trust, that love me for the man I’ve become not the man I was. I wanna have friends that will let me be all alone when being alone is all that I need. I wanna fit in to the perfect space, feel natural and safe in a volatile place."

HI!
ReplyDeleteHi Dakota! This is Amy Noddings here. I love reading your blog. :-)
ReplyDeleteCatalina Testing! More photos of those great Howlands sweatshirts!
ReplyDeleteHi Dakota! Luvs and hugs to everyone! You blog is amazing and I love reading it! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteLinsey
Anonymous lurker who found your blog through a link from AAI. My sister came from Layla House ~4.5 years ago. Your adventures make me smile. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteI'm here too! Love reading your blog, Dakota! And Yohanis loves to check in too to see pictures of his friend Ashagre. Ashagre is really actually the only one he still remembers and talks about from Layla.
ReplyDeleteAnother AAI mom here who enjoys your blog!
ReplyDeleteHowdy dooooooooody! (It's the Google Account, wouldn't let me use one but I can post under name/url just fine!)
ReplyDeleteLet's see if this works. I've posted under name/url.
ReplyDeleteSo it looks like I have a way of posting. Tegan couldn't post under her google either. Hmmm...maybe you should contact google. Or, just let us post under name/url. *shrug*
ReplyDeleteHey, Dakota (and everybody)! I usually post under Google; will try now.
ReplyDeleteSo that seemed to work. Maybe there was a hitch yesterday? Hope you all are doing well and looking forward to a happy weekend. Does Miss Miss still have her tooth? --Jennifer
ReplyDeleteHi Dakota, you don't know me, but Brent did work on our house in Santa Barbara just as you were headed over to Ethiopia to get the kids. He told my mom and I about your blog and now I am an avid follower, I love reading about the kids' exploits. As a mom I think the stories are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteDid you know there are programs where you can turn your blog into a book? That would be a wonderful present for the kids each year or so to have these memories bound for them to have forever. Let me know if you want me to find out the name of the company (hcmurdoch @ gmail . com)
Trying to post using Google.
ReplyDeleteStill here! Always reading, sometimes commenting.... I owe u an email, will try to send one tonight.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting everyone! It sounds like we've found a way for the Grandmas to comment again and I loved learning who's out there reading.
ReplyDeleteI do think about giving this whole blog thing up from time to time, but just about the time I'm really considering it, someone posts a thoughtful comment or sends me an email and I am inspired to keep typing. (Not that I write the blog solely to receive comments, but, you know, it does keep it fun to know that people are reading). That and its still kind of cathartic to write a this point...
If you haven't commented yet and still want to, keep it up. I'd love to hear from you!
I've been having SO many problems commenting using my Google account - for most blogs. So have been just using anonymous instead... (Amanda - Watershed)
ReplyDeletePlease don't stop blogging! Bryan and I really appreciate that you share your thoughts and experiences. It helps us prepare for the arrival of our kids and it makes it all seem more real to us. Thanks for the gift you are giving to many.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm .... over 12,000 views. I'd say your touching people. I for one would hate to see you stop.
ReplyDeleteHey Dakota,
ReplyDeleteGlad to know it sounds like the problem is solved for now. I had a little trouble when I chose a Google account for logging in, so instead I clicked on the "Sign in" option at the top right of the page and was able to gain access.
Hi Dakota, I love your blog, please don't stop! Such great stories and experiences!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog, don't stop! I feel like I get to be kept in the loop. And my mom loves it too, and my mother-in-law.
ReplyDeleteLove to you and the whole family. Ben and I are sharing lots of new parent experiences up north. It's a lot different, and a lot the same. :)
xoxo, Claire
